Native Fire Designs
Born and raised on the Navajo Reservation near Gallup New Mexico, creative art has always been a part of my life. Growing up as a son of a Mechanic and a Rancher, fixing and building things were a daily part of life for my family.
My Native American roots go back generations to some master rug weavers know for their beautiful “Two Grey Hills ” style of rugs. I like to think that’s where my passion and desire for the art comes from. The fire pits just sort of developed as I planned creative activities for my boy scout troops that I have been involved in over the years. Giving the young men opportunities to learn how things work has always been a passion of mine.
Sitting around the campfire on campouts brought on many discussions about life and direction for the young men and myself. I wanted a way to make lasting impressions on them and that’s where the Idea of building the fire pits with a message shining through the cut outs came into play.
My Navajo heritage and the the words of the Scout oath and motto inspired me on the important characteristics needed in todays world. The shaping of the different materials through forging and welding brought about many lessons of vision, patience, and hard work for the young men I worked with.
I’ve been designing and building these fire pits since 2004. Each and every one is unique, hand crafted, and one of a kind. There is nothing more satisfying than relaxing around a fire in your own personalized fire pit and letting the glow of your design, message or pictures fill your heart and mind with lasting memories. Thank you for your interest in my product and I look forward to working with you on yours.
